Comments: I've been looking at this guestbook for awhile and find I've never signed in. Stan, Ken Jones, Pete Giesse and a bunch more duffies live in this area. Been here since 1987.Retired as CW3 DF Warrant after a total of 31 yrs active, National Guard and Reserve service. Hope to see some of you in May. The book is a great way to keep in touch but it also a way to find out who has passed. So many of us have gone that it really hurts to see the "gone" roster. Keep in touch with your friends (old and new). I was at: 76th SOU 63-64 5th ROU 64-65 Phubai 66-67 FS Rothwesten 69-72 Ramasan 73-74 FS Okinawa 79-82 US Embasy Thailand 85-87 The between assignments were at Ft. Devens as an 05D instructor and NSA Staff Officer.
Comments: Hey Stan, It's been a Long time. Hope All is Well.

Comments: Enlisted at 17 in 1961, did well on GT test so was recruited to ASA. Basic at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri, then Fort Devens. Trained as 987 (Transmission Identification Analyst). Was at Kagnew Station, Asmara, Eritrea from 1962 to 1964; was reclassified as O5D, but never learned code. Got out, went to college for a while, ran out of money (no GI Bill at the time), re-enlisted. Back to Devens, training in data processing, 30 months in Germany, brief stop at Vint Hill Farms Station, then back to Devens again. More computer training, then took my discharge (which really upset the ASA).
About twenty years ago near Nashville I flagged down a car that had a Kagnew Station sticker on the back window. The driver was Reggie Young, who had been at Asmara a couple of years before I was. Reggie was at this time the lead guitar player for the Highwaymen (Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson). We sat at the side of I-65 and talked for an hour or so. He told me of a regular Kagnew Station reunion that was scheduled for DC in a few months, and my wife and I went to it. Lost touch after that, and I don't know if that's still going on.
