This ride is dedicated to our TROOPS!
Special Thanks to and Admiration for:
END OF THE TRAIL!
&
SITTING ON TOP OF THE WORLD!

This picture was taken at the highest point (9,600+ feet) in the Huachuca Mountains, near Sierra Vista and Fort Huachuca, AZ. Apache & I gained about 5,000 feet of elevation in about 6 miles and it took 4-5 hours! Whatta RIDE! Whatta VIEW! Undoubtedly the best & roughest trail ride ever! From this point you can see Arizona, New Mexico, California & Old Mexico!
I departed Maysville, GA horseback to Tombstone, AZ on Aug. 14, 2004, with my two trusty mounts and added 1 in Parrish, AL:
Apache, Banjo, Suzy-Q (Suzy joined us in Parrish, AL)
&
My Loyal Blue Heeler "Bandit" (that rode on a pack horse from Pioneer, LA to Tombstone, AZ - 1600 miles)
Gotta LOVE This
As of Friday, June 24, 2005, I'm in Tombstone, Arizona! 2,189 miles and about 700 hours actually in the saddle! This was probably the most exciting day in my life! A couple of wonderful friends came in from out of town to celebrate with me. A beautiful young lady from Gainesville, GA: Carrie Deal Wilder, flew in from Atlanta. A 30-year buddy from the Army: Steve (a.k.a. Buggar Bear) Whitaker, flew in from Reno, NV. We had quite a night in Tombstone and a wonderful weekend also! I’m seeing many old friends. I’ll be staying with Harry & Marge Bouton and Bill & Barb Bouton in Sierra Vista, AZ. They are my adopted Arizona family! I will be heading back to Georgia real soon, on business. I plan to return to Arizona on the same route that I rode horses. I also plan to visit with all the people I met along the way! I have to send my LOVE & THANKS to all that were involved in any way with my trip. THANKS to you wonderful Americans for making my trip more than I’d ever dreamed!!!!!
RIDE ON!
